SUMMARY:April Yenglin Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:April Yenglin grew up on a small ranch in SD and moved to Spearfish in 2001 to attend college at BHSU. She attended and has worked at BHSU since 2001. She worked her way through college as a single mother of two and received her BA in Psychology. April started working at BHSU as a work study\, then became a full-time employee. She has also been a part of the Spearfish Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch since it began\, and it is now in its 10th year.\nIn October of last year April found out that she had TNBC (Breast Cancer)\, and the day after Thanksgiving 2021 she started chemo- and immunotherapy to battle it. She traveled to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston\, Texas\, one of the premier cancer institutes in the world and found out that the care she would get in Rapid City\, SD would match that of MD Anderson for her needs. She traveled to Rapid City once a week for 12 weeks and then every 21 days for immunotherapy and will continue cancer treatment for the next year. After finishing her second round of Chemo at the end of April 2022\, she had a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. Throughout this whole ordeal she has had a positive attitude and has remained an absolutely wonderful person\, mother\, and friend to many. She will still have travel expenses for the next year for immunotherapy\, follow up appointments\, and more chemotherapy.\nThe cost of medical bills\, travel\, prescriptions\, and her continued care has been overwhelming. Please come and join us on August 27th at Crow Peak Brewery for a silent auction to help her out with everything. The silent auction will start at 3pm and run until 6pm. At 7pm the band Trip Cid-ing will play\, and the Hangry Hills Food Truck will be serving food. Hope to see everyone there!!
